To combat address poisoning attacks and prevent [spoofed tokens](https://info.etherscan.com/what-is-address-poisoning/#token-spoofing) from deceiving users, Team Etherscan uses heuristics to mask certain tokens with [unknown reputation](https://info.etherscan.com/etherscan-token-reputation/#unknownreputation) as `ERC20 ***` on Etherscan:

### How to Unmask Tokens?

This update may also affect legitimate tokens that match our heuristics for masking certain tokens. For example:

Legitimate token projects that wish to unmask their tokens on Etherscan should raise a ticket to [update the token's information](https://info.etherscan.com/how-to-update-token-info/) and provide more context to users.
